Stanford Housing, Academic Plans To Be Heard By Santa Clara Co.
Stanford University's wishes to build housing and academic facilities over 3.5 million square feet will come before the supervisors Tuesday.
PALO ALTO, CA — Four meetings to discuss Stanford University's application for a General Use Permit to build 3.5 million square feet of academic facilities and student housing, and 550 units of faculty/staff housing are planned by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.
A workshop on the application will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Santa Clara County Board Chamber, 70 West Hedding St. in San Jose. A public hearing will be held at the same location at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 8.
Additional hearings will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Palo Alto City Council Chambers, 250 Hamilton Ave. in Palo Alto and Nov. 5 at the Santa Clara County Board Chamber, 70 West Hedding St. in San Jose, with the time still to be determined.

County staff and the County Planning Commission have recommended approval of the full 3.5 million square feet of development, subject to various Conditions of Approval "to ensure full mitigation of potential adverse impacts," according to a release from the county.
