Suspect Steals Mercedes-Benz Out Of Palo Alto's Resident's Garage
The suspect entered the garage through an unlocked yard door and stole the keys to the car, which had been left on a countertop.
PALO ALTO, CA — A suspect stole a Mercedes-Benz out of a Palo Alto residential garage on Saturday.
Surveillance camera footage from the home, on the 300 block of Whitclem Drive, captured images of the suspect, according to Palo Alto police. The victims, both home at the time the car was stolen around 9 a.m., were both in their 70s.
The suspect entered the garage through an unlocked yard door and stole the keys to the car, which had been left on a countertop, police said. He was described as a Black male, possibly in his 20s or 30s, wearing a black shirt, black pants and a gray baseball cap with an orange bill. He also had on a white face mask and dark backpack, according to police.

The vehicle, a gray 2011 Mercedes ML-350 sport utility vehicle, has not been recovered. The suspect also left behind a bicycle, a Trek Marlin, that he used to get to the residence.
