The drawing for tonight’s huge Powerball lottery - estimated to be worth $450 million - will take place at 7:59 p.m.

The odds of winning the big prize are 1 in 292,201,338, according to MarketWatch. The service points out that the chances of being struck by lightning in any given year are 1 in 700,000.
Organizers say that $450 million, after being taxed, should be worth about $275 million in cash.

Ticket sales for the lotto generally stop about an hour before the drawing.
