Consider These Earth Day Tips Before Hitting the Road

Take advantage of the carpool lane: Add a passenger and you'll help conserve fuel. Do this on the way to work, with friends heading to the mall, the kids' sports events and other places you and your friends are traveling to. Plus, if you're driving on the freeway, you might shave some time off your drive!

Plan errands in advance: Conserve even more fuel by getting your shopping done in one trip. This will save on multiple trips to the same area and waste less of your time.

Think before driving to use that coupon: Though you might save money clipping coupons, the drive to actually redeem them might suck up your gas and end up putting you in the hole.

Use the car with the best mpg: If you have more than one car, make sure you use the one with that has the best gas mileage more often, such as during the weekend to save on fuel costs and consumption.

Keep your tires inflated properly: Doing so can improve the mileage on your car, save gas, and therefore money.
