Cox Communication Customers: Are You Having Internet Problems?
A number of Cox Communication customers in Palos Verdes have complained of having poor internet service. Are you one of them?
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Are you a Cox Communication customer in Rancho Palos Verdes experiencing internet connectivity problems?
A growing number of residents are reporting internet connectivity woes and service issues — a problem possibly linked to higher local usage, the city said.
Patch heard from several readers experiencing problems. A Palos Verdes local told Patch Tuesday they were experiencing poor internet connection.

City officials in Rancho Palos Verdes will host a representative from Cox Communications Oct. 6, during the city council meeting.
"In response to a flood of inquiries from residents who are experiencing problems with their internet connection and are concerned about staying connected for distance learning, a representative from Cox Communications will give a presentation during the October 6 City Council meeting," officials said.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in McTaggart Hall at Fred Hesse Jr. Community Park with safety protocols to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, though city officials encourage virtual participation during the pandemic. The meeting will be livestreamed on the city's website and televised on RPVtv Cox 33/Frontier FiOS 38.
A staff report and presentation on the topic will be posted on rpvca.gov/agendas on Sept. 29. Locals can also submit questions and concerns to the city council before the meeting by emailing them to cc@rpvca.gov.
People who want to provide comments during the meeting or leave a pre-recorded voice message can complete a form at rpvca.gov/participate.
People with a disability, or anyone who needs an accommodation to participate in programs, services, activities and meetings, can contact the City's ADA Coordinator/Risk Manager at 310-683-3157, adarequests@rpvca.gov, 30940 Hawthorne Blvd., Rancho Palos Verdes at least 48 hours in advance to request an auxiliary aid or accommodation.
"With everyone at home during these unprecedented times, internet connectivity may be strained," officials said earlier this month. "We understand that connectivity issues provide challenges to individuals and families working and learning from home."
