Fire Season: Brush Clearing Planned In Rancho Palos Verdes

To help prepare for fire season, brush clearing is scheduled in Rancho Palos Verdes.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Brush clearing is scheduled in Rancho Palos Verdes this weekend to help prepare for fire season, city officials announced.

Crews will pick up excess green waste, including brush, shrubs, hedges, tree branches and bushes each Saturday through May 15 along a different trash route in Rancho Palos Verdes, according to the city.

"This is a great opportunity to help prevent brush fires and clear your property before the June 1 L.A. County brush clearing deadline," city officials said.

Acceptable green waste may be in tied bundles, in EDCO carts, and/or in other personal cans. Greens placed in plastic bags will be accepted, however, the use of plastic bags is discouraged due to possible contamination issues at the processing facilities. Loose material, trash or construction and demolition material will not be collected.
