Firefighters Battle House Fire In San Pedro
Firefighters were battling a house fire in San Pedro Tuesday afternoon, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.

SAN PEDRO, CA — Firefighters battled a fire inside the attic of a two-story home in San Pedro, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
The fire at 1342 W. Ofarrell St., just south of West Summerland Ave., extended to the second floor of the home and one other structure is exposed, Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department said. The fire broke out after 2:30 p.m. and it took firefighters about 29 minutes to knock it down.
The fire was contained to the attic and second floor while the department's truck company conducted salvage operations on the first floor to protect the furnishings and belongings, Stewart said.

The exposed home on the west side of the building was defended from damage, she added.
A palm tree is reported to have landed on the house, but it's unclear whether that was due to the fire, Stewart said.
