First Day of Summer Means Higher Temps for PV

The National Weather Service predicts temperatures in the upper 70s on Tuesday.

Temperatures in the high 70s will coincide with this year's summer solstice in Palos Verdes.

The sun will appear to reach its highest point in the sky, marking the first day of summer when the earth's tilt toward the sun is at a maximum. As a result, the sunlight will produce the longest day of the year.

On Tuesday, the sun is expected to rise at 5:43 a.m. and set at 8:08 p.m., according to the U.S. Naval Observatory.
