UPDATED: Former Rolling Hills Mayor Receives Medici Award
The Palos Verdes Art Center presents the award to Allen Lay at its annual meeting.
The presented former Rolling Hills mayor Allen Lay with the prestigious Medici Award at its annual meeting in June, the Palos Verdes Peninsula News reported.
"I feel that it's one of those things that you never expect and when it comes you're very pleased," Lay told Patch. "I'm humbled to be among the award recipients."
Lay, the then board of trustees chairman, was given the award for his community service and work to support open space preservation, in addition to local arts, according to the PV News report.

Lay will be a PVAC trustee at large for the 2012-13 year.
