Former Yankees Pitcher Hideki Irabu Found Dead at RPV Home
Irabu, 42, found dead Wednesday afternoon at a home in Rancho Palos Verdes, according to news reports.

Former Yankees pitcher Hideki Irabu was found dead Wednesday in an apparent suicide at a Rancho Palos Verdes home, the Associated Press reported Thursday.
Irabu, 42, was found at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Michael Arriaga said.
The home where his body was found is in the 2200 block of Via Velardo, according to City News Service reports. Law enforcement sources told TMZ.com that Irabu apparently committed suicide by hanging.

Arriaga also said Irabu died of an apparant suicide. Further details have not been released, according to Associated Press reports.Â
Irabu spent six seasons in the majors, from 1997 to 2002. He pitched for the New York Yankees during 1997-99, according to City News Service reports. Irabu won two World Series titles with the Yankees (in 1998 and 1999) but did not appear in a Series game, USA Today reported.
