Gas Prices on Rise for Second Straight Week
Prices are nearly two cents higher this week.

Gas prices increased slightly for the second straight week, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Weekend Gas Watch.
The Weekend Gas Watch monitors the average price of gasoline.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $3.82 per gallon, which is 1.8 cents higher than last week, nine cents lower than last month, and 69 cents higher than last year.

In San Diego, the price is $3.818, an increase of three cents from last week, six cents below last month, and 69 cents higher than last year.
On the Central Coast, the average price is $3.870, up 3.1 cents from last week, seven cents lower than a month ago, and 68 cents above last year.

In the Inland Empire, the average per gallon price is $3.794, which is 2.4 cents higher than last week, nine cents lower than last month, and 69 cents more than last year.
“Oil prices continue to hover near $100 a barrel and that is impacting gas prices locally,” said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring. “Even though prices are now about 50 cents lower than their peak 2011 levels reached in May, this is still the second most expensive summer we’ve ever experienced for gasoline prices behind 2008.”
