Police said there is no direct indication that the remains are connected to the two men who were reported missing after a boat crash off the coast on Dec. 24, but the possibility isn't being ruled out.
The investigation is still in its early stages and details regarding the age, gender or identity of the deceased, as well as the date and cause of death, are unavailable at this time. A secondary search is planned for Thursday afternoon, PVEPD said.
