The Hill has a fair number of tennis devotees, but Wimbledon champions? According to a recent Bleacher Report article, Palos Verdes is home to more home-grown champs of the top tennis tournament than any community of its size in the world.

Seven Palos Verdes natives can now call themselves Wimbledon champions. The Peninsula can claim even more Wimbledon titles—13 in total—if those who won in doubles get half of a title, according to the report.

Rolling Hills Estates this weekend will hold its annual , named after the former Wimbledon champ.

Pete Sampras, Lindsay Davenport, Jim Pugh, Kim Po and Billy Martin are some of the PV natives with Wimbledon successes under their belts, according to the Bleacher Report article.
