Man Falls 100 Feet Off Cliff On Palos Verdes Peninsula
A man fell approximately 100 feet off the side of a cliff near Point Fermin and into the ocean, sustaining serious injuries, LAFD said.
SAN PEDRO, CA — A man fell approximately 100 feet off the side of a cliff into the ocean below in San Pedro Tuesday morning, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Authorities were notified about the emergency at Point Fermin at about 8:48 a.m. Initially, the man was unresponsive when firefighters and rescue crews attempted to get to him.
LAFD Marine Division launched divers to assist with the rescue and were able to make contact with the man at the water's edge and bring him further onto the shore. Though the man is alert and talking, according to LAFD, he has sustained serious injuries from the fall.

LAFD is preparing to hoist the man back to the top of the cliff and then he will be airlifted to a local hospital to treat his injuries, according to LASFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart.
