Monday Essentials: Expect More Road Work

Here are five things Palos Verdes residents should know this week:

1. Crews will be resurfacing Via Almar/Via Corta between Via Arroyo and Palos Verdes Drive West, as well as the resident side of Palos Verdes Drive West between Via Corta and Paseo Del Mar, in Palos Verdes Estates on Monday. Traffic flow will continue on Via Almar at all times, and crews will keep at least one lane open on Palos Verdes Drive West at all times.
   
2. Tuesday is the first day of classes for students in Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. Both Palos Verdes and Palos Verdes Peninsula high schools will be on a minimum day schedule.
3. There are no city council meetings this week. The Rolling Hills City Council canceled its meeting Monday; the Rolling Hills Estates City Council canceled its meeting on Tuesday; and the Palos Verdes Estates City Council does not meet in August.
