Montessori Preschool Could Lose Site
The school's lease at Ladera Linda Community Center might not be extended past its expiration in September.
Members of the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council are scheduled to discuss tonight whether the Montessori School of Manhattan Beach/Rancho Palos Verdes preschool will remain at Ladera Linda Community Center in the fall.
The preschool's lease at the center expires Sept. 21. Council directed city staff not to renew the school's lease in March.
A staff report recommended not extending the school's current lease past September.

"Due to the current condition of the buildings and the significant financial expenditure that would be needed to improve their condition to an acceptable level, staff does not recommend that the current lease be extended beyond the end of the current lease," the report stated.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fred Hesse Community Park, 29301 Hawthorne Blvd.
