Multiple Crashes Reported on Rain-Slick Road in Palos Verdes

No injuries were reported but drivers were advised to avoid the area.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA -- Multiple rain-related crashes were reported Wednesday evening on Hawthorne Boulevard in Rancho Palos Verdes, authorities said.

The crashes occurred on Hawthorne Boulevard between Blackhorse Road and Palos Verdes Drive South, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lomita Station said.

No injuries were reported but drivers were advised to avoid the area. The Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel are on the scene.

The cold storm moving into the area could produce between a half-inch and an inch of rain in coastal and valley areas and two inches in the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

Ahead of the storm, moisture filtering from the south generated some showers Wednesday afternoon, with more possible overnight.
