On RPV Council Agenda: Marymount College, City Pensions

The Rancho Palos Verdes City Council will review conditions of approval for a facilities expansion project and receive a report from the Pension Subcommittee during tonight's scheduled meeting.

Council members will determine what conditions apply now versus later after the College is renovated. According to a memorandum on the Marymount College item, "there are 18 operational related conditions that apply now, 136 construction related conditions that will apply later, and 26 conditions that apply both now and later."

There are two oustanding operational conditions the College has yet to fully satify, according to the report.

The first, condition No. 138, requires the establishment of a Neighborhood Advisory Committee. The College is currently in the recruitment process for this condition, according to the report.

The second condition, No. 158, requires the construction of no fewer than 463 on-site parking spaces. It also requires the annual implementation of a Parking Management Strategy Program. The College is in the process of completing an annual Parking Management Strategy Program to be reviewed every July 1.

Staff will recommend giving the College 30 days from tonight's meeting to comply with the two conditions before determining the College is in violation with the conditions of approval.

Failure to comply with conditions of approval results in revocation of the conditional use permit approved by the City, according to staff reports.
