Palos Verdes Ballet Dancer Joins Prestigious Chicago Ballet Company

Palos Verdes, CA — A dancer from Palos Verdes Peninsula has signed with a prestigious Chicago ballet company, the Daily Breeze reported.

Olivia Tang-Mifsud, who grew up dancing with the Palos Verdes Ballet, then on to training at the San Francisco Ballet School, has joined the Joffrey Ballet.

Tang-Mifsud, 19, told the Breeze the process of joining the prestigious ballet company was not an easy one, even with the help of her teachers at the San Francisco Ballet School.

“It’s really difficult just because there’s so many girls. It was hard but you just have to focus on yourself,” she said. “Everything that I’ve learned (at the Palos Verdes Ballet), as well as (the San Francisco Ballet School) I feel really prepared me.”

Tang-Mifsud said the thing that drew her to the company is that it is known for including both contemporary and classical dance in its repertoire.
