Parking Structure Partially Collapses In Rolling Hills

ROLLING HILLS, CA — A parking structure partially collapsed in Rolling Hills on Wednesday due to the effects of a heavy rainstorm hitting the area, according to officials.

Due to heavy rain flow, a section of a planter curtain wall fell off the side of the parking structure at the Promenade on the Peninsula shopping center at the Deep Valley Drive entrance, authorities said in a community alert.

The collapse happened at about 2:40 p.m., The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told CBS News. Firefighters are on the scene to inspect the damage, officials said.

No injuries or further damage was reported, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The parking structure is currently closed "out of an abundance of caution."
