Poll: Should Horse Owners Have to License Their Animals?

The City of Los Angeles is encouraging equestrians to license their animals. Should horses be licensed in Palos Verdes? Tell us in the poll below.

Though no cities in Palos Verdes where the housing of horses is allowed require owners to license their animals, other areas are pushing licensing to raise money for equestrian trail improvements and create a "horse census."

The City of Los Angeles approved a plan last week that encourages horse owners to pay a $14 annual horse license fee, the Los Angeles Daily News reported. Under the new law, equestrians will get a discount if they register their horses for multiple years at one time, according to the Daily News article.

All licensing fees are used for equestrian trail improvements and upkeep, the Daily News reported.
