Rancho Palos Verdes Election 2019 Results: Voters Reject Measure
Residents voted on three City Council seats and Measure B. According to preliminary results, voters rejected Measure B.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Residents voted on three City Council seats and Measure B. According to preliminary results, Measure B was rejected and the three candidates who won seats on the City Council are David Bradley, Barbara Ferraro and Ken Dyda.
The results, which still need to be certified, show 78.12 percent of residents voted 'No' on Measure B, which would increase minimum wage for hospitality workers. The results also show David Bradley received 22.78 percent of the vote, Barbara Ferraro received 21.63 percent, and Ken Dyda got 21.27 percent of the overall vote.
Five candidates were vying for three City Council seats, including one incumbent. Incumbent Ken Dyda has served multiple tenures on the city council. Barbara Ferraro is also a City Council veteran, as well as a former educator at schools in the Palos Verdes Peninsula district.

Three candidates are city planning commissioners: Stephen Perestam, Dave Emenhiser and David Bradley.
Voters also went to the polls to vote on Measure B, which would require large hotels and other hospitality businesses with 50 or more employees in Rancho Palos Verdes to establish a $15 minimum wage with a $1/hour increase in salary every year until 2022. Measure B is sponsored by Unite Here Local 11.

The measure would also require hotels to have panic buttons, keep detailed employment records and get written permission from employees before exceeding a cap on hours worked in a day, Daily Breeze reported.
