Rancho Palos Verdes Expands Security Camera Program Into 2021
Rancho Palos Verdes will expand its homeowner's association security camera grant program into 2021.
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Rancho Palos Verdes is stepping up neighborhood security and expanding its homeowner's association security camera grant program into 2021.
Homeowner's associations and neighborhoods can purchase Flock Safety cameras to monitor vehicles on neighborhood streets. It's part of the city's public safety strategic plan to keep people safe and help eliminate non-violent crime.
"The City of Rancho Palos Verdes seeks to provide its residents with opportunities to further enhance community safety by strengthening neighborhood vigilance and security," according to a news release.

Security cameras are considered effective tools to prevent crime and help with crime-solving efforts. When a crime occurs, Flock Safety automated license plate reading cameras give authorities the actionable evidence needed to help solve the crime.
"This is possible with crime-fighting technology that provides coverage for the entire neighborhood, the company said.

All HOAs in Rancho Palos Verdes are eligible to apply for the grant program. Interested HOAs are required to follow the city’s application process. Neighborhoods without a formal HOA are also eligible to apply by contacting mbright@rpvca.gov for more information.
