PV to Celebrate 'National Night Out'
Communities on the Peninsula will celebrate anti-crime efforts and community safety in various locations Tuesday night.

Along with thousands of other communities across the country, Palos Verdes will celebrate National Night Out tonight, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Rancho Palos Verdes and will join the public in celebrating anti-crime efforts and community safety from 4-6 p.m. in the Seaview area, 4237 Stalwart Dr., as well as from 6-9 p.m. in the Del Cerro area, 59 Oceanaire Dr.
Palos Verdes Estates locations for gatherings from 6-9 p.m. will be located at 3801 Via La Selva (former site of PVPUSD), Valmonte Plaza Park, Via Nivel Park and Via Carrillo Park, according to the city calendar.

According to the event's official website, National Night Out is designed to "heighten crime and drug-prevention awareness; generate support for … local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back." The event, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, started in 1983.
