Sewage Spill Investigation Leads To Grisly Discovery
Workers investigating a 30,000-gallon sewage spill from earlier this month discovered human remains.
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Workers investigating the cause of a 30,000-gallon sewage discharge from a Rancho Palos Verdes manhole earlier this month discovered human remains, it was reported Tuesday.
According to the report on the Los Angeles Daily News website, the remains were found June 13 in an area of overgrown brush in the Agua Amarga Reserve. The workers were cutting their way through the brush to access a manhole cover from which some of the sewage is believed to have spilled.
Los Angeles County sheriff and coroner's officials both confirmed to the paper that they responded to the area after the remains were discovered.

No details were immediately available about the condition of the remains or how long they may have been in the area.
