Sheriff's deputies are sharing a cold-weather safety tip for Peninsula locals as temperatures begin to dip.
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Sheriff's deputies from the Lomita Station shared a cold weather safety tip Friday as temperatures drop across the Peninsula, asking people to never leave their cars unattended while running.
"With cold weather season in the forecast, we want to remind everyone to NEVER leave your car unattended while it is running or has the keys in the ignition," sheriffs officials said.
"Criminals are looking for a crime of opportunity and all it takes is a few seconds for them to take your car," officials said.
