UCLA Blood Drive: Critical Need For Donations
UCLA will host a blood drive Friday in Rolling Hills Estates. Here's how to donate.
ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, CA — There's a critical need for blood donations with a critical supply shortage in the U.S. during the pandemic. Peninsula locals are urged to sign up for the UCLA Blood Drive Friday and help.
UCLA will host the drive at Ernie Howlett Park, 25851 Hawthorne Blvd., Rolling Hills Estates on Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donors are asked to look for the UCLA Bloodmobile near the tennis courts.
COVID-19 antibody testing will be available with select blood donations, organizers said.

The Red Cross has continued to encourage people to donate blood during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
"The American Red Cross has a constant and ongoing need for blood and platelet donations," according to the organization. "There is no known end date in this fight against coronavirus, and the Red Cross needs the help of blood and platelet donors and blood drive hosts to meet the needs of patient care."
