We Harass 'Out of Love,' Palos Verdes' Lunada Bay Boy Recorded as Saying

The recording was released by the lawyers filing a class-action suit against the surfer gang.

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA -- A surfer accused of being part of the Lunada Bay surf gang allegedly admitted on an audio recording that the gang has been terrorizing non-locals for decades, the Daily Breeze reported.

The recording confirmed what many have long accused the Lunada Bay Boys of doing. The gang allegedly used intimidation and sometimes violence to prevent the isolated surf spot from being a crowded surf destination.

In the recorded, the surfer, identified by the attorneys releasing the tape as Charlie Ferrara, allegedly told Diana Milena Reed that they are only doing it "out of love," the Daily Breeze reported.

“People take it to the extreme because they got s--t from the older people,” the surfer told Reed after she allegedly was harassed by two other surfers. “They wanted to prove themself (sic) because they wanted to surf here so they had to do things, you know, that were uncalled for, to like, to show that they cared about this spot.”

The audio recording was released by the attorneys representing Reed in a class-action lawsuit against the surf gang.
