Woman Dies After Falling Onto Rocks In San Pedro
The woman, who was about 50 years old, was gravely injured after a 70-foot fall onto shoreline rocks in San Pedro's Sunken City.
SAN PEDRO, CA — A woman died after she was injured Thursday in a 70-foot fall onto shoreline rocks in San Pedro's Sunken City.
The fall was reported just after 4 p.m. in the 4100 block of South Pacific Avenue, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The woman, who was about 50 years old, suffered severe head trauma and was in grave condition when hoisted aboard a helicopter for transport to a hospital, Humphrey said.

Authorities later said she died, NBC Los Angeles reported.
Tourists still visit the ruins of homes that sunk into the ocean decades ago, the news station reported.

It was not immediately clear if the woman had intended to harm herself.
