Afghan Raffle to Help Foothill Unity Center
The Skein Yarn Shop in Pasadena raised more than $1,200 for charity last year and hopes to double that amount this year.

How about a handmade, cozy afghan just in time for chilly winter nights?
The handywork of some 20 people will be on display at Skein Yarn Shop, 1101 East Walnut St. in Pasadena, where people can buy raffle tickets in hopes of taking home this handmade labor of love. Proceeds from the rafle benefit the Foothill Unity Center, which helps people in need across the San Gabriel Valley.
The afghan will be raffled at 2 PM on Dec 15 at the shop. You don't need to be present to win.
Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Tickets being sold at Skein. Last year, the yarn shop raised $1,200, said Nancy Attix. And she hopes to double that this year.
