PASADENA, CA — A 35-year-old man riding a Ducati motorcycle was critically injured Tuesday morning in a collision with a car in Pasadena.
The 2011 Ducati was being ridden west on East Del Mar Boulevard about 9:40 a.m. when it broadsided a 2010 Hyundai Elantra sedan that was southbound on Madison Avenue, police said.
The rider, a resident of Pasadena, was taken to a hospital. The Hyundai driver, a 24-year-old Pasadena woman, stopped at the scene as required and cooperated with investigators. She was not suspected of driving under influence of alcohol or drugs, according to Pasadena Police Department Lt. Mark Goodman.

"Preliminary investigation suggests the woman did not see the motorcyclist traveling west on Del Mar Boulevard and pulled out in front of him as she drove south ... from the stop sign at Madison Avenue," Goodman said.
