Fire Breaks Out in Caltech Lab

A Caltech building had to be evacuated Tuesday when a fire broke out in a lab, triggering a hazardous materials team response.

PASADENA, CA — A fire broke out in a Caltech lab, prompting the building's evacuation, but no one was injured, it was reported Wednesday.

The Pasadena Fire Department said Tuesday night's fire was quickly extinguished by sprinklers but, due to hazardous materials, specialized teams were on scene assessing.

No injuries were reported.

About an hour after the fire department reported the blaze, officials said the cause was a computer fire in the lab.
