Fire Scorches Pasadena Apartment Building

Investigators are working to determine how a fire started in a vacant Pasadena apartment building Saturday.

PASADENA , CA — A vacant apartment in a building in Pasadena caught fire Saturday but firefighters quickly extinguished it, according to a Pasadena Fire Department spokeswoman.

The blaze inside the apartment in a two-story building at 1196 Raymond Ave. was reported about 4:20 p.m., fire department spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said.

Firefighters extinguished the flames in about 15 minutes, she said. There were no injuries.

A fire department investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine how a fire started in a vacant apartment, Derderian said.
