Kidspace Children's Museum Names New CEO

Lisa Clements comes to the Pasadena operation from J. Paul Getty Museum.

PASADENA, CA — Lisa Clements has been named the new chief executive officer of Kidspace Children's Museum in Pasadena, officials announced Tuesday.

Clements replaces Michael Shanklin, who left Kidspace on Sept. 30 after eight years as CEO to build a new children's museum in Washington, D.C.

Clements previously worked at the J. Paul Getty Museum, where she was the assistant director of education, public programs, interpretive content.

"We are delighted to have Lisa join the Kidspace team," said Mike Bryant, Kidspace board president. "She brings award-winning experience in program development, capacity building, and a passion for positive social impact."

Clements will begin her new job on April 20.

Kidspace was founded in 1979 to increase children's access to the arts, humanities, and sciences.
