Pasadena Police Shoot Pit Bull
The officer was a part of a law enforcement task force conducting a compliance check at a home in the 1900 block of North Marengo Avenue.
A pit bull was shot and wounded today by a police officer in Pasadena when the animal charged at law enforcement officers conducting a compliance check, police reported.
The dog survived and was transported to a local animal hospital, said Pasadena police Lt. Diego Torres.
The officer was a part of a law enforcement task force conducting a compliance check at a home in the 1900 block of North Marengo Avenue about 7 a.m., Torres said, when they were charged by the canine.

John Pollerana, 54, was arrested at the scene for a parole violation, Torres said.
