Renovated Baseball Field Dedicated at Jackie Robinson's Old High School
The field was completely rebuilt, with new side and outfield fencing, new foul poles, a blue windscreen and yellow top cap in the outfield.

PASADENA, CA - The renovated baseball field at Pasadena's John Muir High School, Jackie Robinson's alma mater, was dedicated Wednesday.
The field was completely rebuilt, with new side and outfield fencing, new foul poles, a blue windscreen and yellow top cap in the outfield. Backstop and dugout fencing were repaired, new metal dugout roofs were installed, the entire field was re-graded and new sod and infield mix were put in.
New bases and a bullpen were installed, along with a new LED scoreboard and signage. Irrigation was adjusted to the new grade.

Funding for the $260,000 project came from the Los Angeles Dodgers, Baseball Tomorrow Fund, the Helen and Will Webster Foundation, Nick English, Pasadena Tournament of Roses and the Pasadena Educational Foundation.
"The Dodgers are proud to restore Jackie Robinson's home baseball field as a monument to be remembered and utilized by future generations of this community,” team President Stan Kasten said. "Jackie has greatly impacted Los Angeles, Major League Baseball and the country. We hope this field will bring local awareness to his legacy and inspire students to never set limitations on their future."

Following the dedication ceremony, more than 60 members of the John Muir High School baseball and softball teams participated in a clinic led by former Dodgers Kenny Landreaux, Derrel Thomas, Dennis Powell and Tommy Davis.
