Steven Spielberg Visits Pasadena's Chandler School

Steven Spielberg stopped by the Chandler School on Wednesday morning to launch the USC Shoah Foundation's IWitness Challenge, which encourages middle and high-school students to create video essays inspired by the testimonies of Holocaust survivors.

The IWitness software used to create the video essays is part of one of the school's electives, and according to the school, a seventh-grader named Corah got to show her film to Spielburg.

"How many 12-year-olds get a chance to shake hands with Steven Spielberg and talk about what they're learning?" said Martin Voss, the school's director of communications, to Patch.

Spielberg created the Shoah Foundation shortly after making "Schindler's List," and the launch of the IWitness video challenge at Chandler School coincides with that movie's 20th anniversary.
