Suspected Drunken Driver Tries to Flee on Foot After Fatal Crash: CHP
A 41-year-old Christopher Richard Nelson of Monrovia died in the three-car crash on the Ventura Freeway in Pasadena.

A 24-year-old motorist was arrested in connection with a three-vehicle crash Sunday on the Ventura (134) Freeway in Pasadena where a person was killed and the suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot.
The crash on the eastbound freeway, west of Orange Grove Boulevard, occurred at 12:55 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
Paramedics arriving at the scene pronounced 41-year-old Christopher Richard Nelson dead at the scene. The coroner’s office didn’t have his city of residence, but the CHP reported he was from Monrovia and was driving a 1992 Toyota.

Pasadena resident Eduardo Macias, 24, allegedly tried to flee the scene on foot, but was later arrested by CHP officers.
Macias was driving a 1998 Toyota. An 18-year-old woman driving a 2016 Honda and her passenger, another 18-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital.
