1. EMWD's Jeff Armstrong Announces Departure from Metropolitan Board - Association of California Water Agencies (acwa.com) — Perris residents’ voice on the powerful Metropolitan Water District board is changing, as EMWD director Jeff Armstrong will step down from that regional role on December 17 while continuing to represent the Menifee and Perris areas locally. EMWD will appoint a new Metropolitan delegate at its next board meeting, a key decision for long-term water reliability, affordability, and planning affecting Perris customers.
   

2. Warehouse moratorium OK'd in Perris (pressenterprise.com) — Perris has temporarily halted approvals for new warehouses for at least 45 days after a unanimous City Council vote, giving officials time to study impacts and consider new rules. With millions of square feet already built or planned along the 215 corridor, the pause could shape future traffic, air quality, and jobs in and around the city.
   

3. Perris declares emergency over its struggling finances (pressenterprise.com) — Perris has declared a fiscal emergency to confront rising costs and slowing revenues, a move that could eventually lead to new local taxes or service changes. City leaders stress it’s a preventative step as warehouse, cannabis, and sales tax income soften and expenses for safety, parks, and insurance climb.
   

4. Hero Dad Tragically Drowns Trying To Keep 7-Year-Old Son Afloat After Their Kayak Capsized (cafemom.com) — A tragic kayaking accident at Lake Perris State Recreation Area left a 54-year-old father dead after he reportedly kept his 7-year-old son above water until rescuers arrived. The boy survived but was hospitalized for evaluation. State park officials are urging all visitors, especially families from Perris and nearby communities, to always wear properly fitted life jackets on the water.
