2 Big-Rigs Collide On State Highway 37
Traffic was snarled in both directions between Sonoma and Vallejo for hours.

NORTH BAY, CA — The Friday afternoon commute was moving again albeit slowly along one of the North Bay's major east-west corridors following an injury accident involving two big rigs Friday afternoon.
Both directions of Highway 37 between Sonoma and Solano counties were reopened as of 4:48 p.m., after being closed since early Friday afternoon following the injury collision, which was reported to the California Highway Patrol just before 1:30 p.m.
The crash occurred in the eastbound lane of the highway near a bridge that spans Sonoma Creek, according to the CHP.

It took a couple of hours for tow trucks to clear the wreckage of the big rigs from the crash scene.
The collision also involved two vehicles, one of which was a sport-utility vehicle.

At least one person was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment.
