4 Family Members Found Dead From Gunshot Wounds, Santa Rosa Police Say

In addition to processing the scene at the Santa Rosa home, police served a search warrant at a residence in the South Bay.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Santa Rosa Police Department shared more information Thursday about a homicide investigation into the deaths of four people.

Authorities discovered their bodies Wednesday afternoon after the boyfriend of one of the victims called the Santa Rosa Police Department around 2 p.m. to request a welfare check. He was concerned because it had been a couple of days since he heard from the victim.

Police officers went to the home in the 200 block of Monarch Court and forced entry through a window. Inside, they discovered four people in different areas of the house. They all appeared to have suffered significant gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Brandon Matthies said.

Autopsies were scheduled for Thursday and Friday at the Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office, which was still working to confirm their names and exact relationships.

"At this time, the incident is still being investigated as a multi-person homicide," Matthies said.

In addition to processing the scene on Monarch Court, detectives and field evidence technicians served a search warrant at a home in the 2800 block of Buena Crest Court in San Jose linked to one of the victims.

"The motive and circumstances of the shooting are currently under investigation by the SRPD Violent Crimes Team," Matthies said. "We still do not believe there is any threat to the public."

Police asked anyone with pertinent information to contact the SRPD Violent Crime Team at 707-543-3590 and reference SRPD case number 25-354.
