Armed Robbery at Payday Loan Store: Petaluma Police Nab 2

BREAKING: A suspect confessed to robbing Check Into Cash with an axe, and to robbing the same business with a knife last May.

PETALUMA, CA -- Two men have been arrested after admitting their roles in the robbery of a payday advance store on the morning of Feb. 1.

Police began their investigation after a report of armed robbery by employees of Check Into Cash shortly after 10 am on Thursday, Feb. 1. A lone male suspect entered the business carrying a hand axe and demanded money. After getting what he wanted, he left the business. No one was injured during the robbery.

Petaluma Police Department patrol officers, a K-9 officer and detectives responded to the scene, and a little over half an hour after the robbery, Petaluma transients Dustin Ragala, 25 and Kyle McIsaac, 29, were contacted in downtown Petaluma when an officer noted similarities between one of them and the suspect description that had been provided by the business.

Police say Ragala and McIsaac were found in possession of drug paraphernalia and evidence linking them to the robbery, including clothing and currency. The suspects were arrested and transported to the Petaluma Police Department.

When interviewed, police say Ragala made admissions incriminating himself and McIsaac, and that McIsaac fully confessed to personally committing the robbery, and to robbing the same business on May 2, 2016 using a knife.
