Barn Destroyed In Fire At Egg Farm Near Petaluma

Fire officials said a barn at Petaluma Farms became fully engulfed in flames, billowing dark smoke that could be seen around the region.

PETALUMA, CA — A large fire at an egg farm northwest of Petaluma sent a large plume of dark smoke into the air that was visible for miles Thursday afternoon.

Several agencies pitched in to tackle the blaze at Petaluma Farms, including the Petaluma Fire Department and Rancho Adobe Fire District. A Sonoma County Sheriff's Office helicopter provided aerial support and deputies on the ground helped out at the scene.

According to KRON4, the fire started in a barn that had been recently remodeled, which soon became fully engulfed in flames. Fortunately, the barn was empty when the fire ignited.

Fire investigators are working to determine what sparked the blaze.
