Bursting with Pride: Highlights of the Petaluma National Little League Parade
Walnut Park is Ground Zero for the celebration for the young baseball stars who finished third at the Little League World Series.
Wow, what a scene in Petaluma today. The whole city is pasted with patriotic bunting, yellow "West" T-shirts and huge smiles.
It's the celebration for the Petaluma National Little Leaguers, who took third place at the recent Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. Thousands turned out at Walnut Park, the epicenter of the town bash.
Amid a windstorm of confetti, each player rode in a vintage car on a loop through the downtown area and ended up at the park, where officials from the City of Petaluma, the state Legislature and the Little League gave three cheers to the young stars. Mayor David Glass presented the team with the key to the city as well.
