Coronavirus: 152 Cases Reported In Sonoma County

In the past 24 hours, five new coronavirus cases were found and eight cases recovered from the virus.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases rose to 152 in Sonoma County as of Monday night. According to numbers released by county officials, there were five new confirmed cases since Sunday night.

Of all county cases, 21 have required hospitalization. In the past 24 hours, eight people have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases up to 89.

The county has seen a total of two deaths because of COVID-19, but no new deaths have been reported.

  • North County (Windsor North to Cloverdale): 18
  • South County (Penngrove / Petaluma): 20
  • East County (Kenwood, Glen Ellen, Sonoma): 16
  • West County (Sebastopol, Guerneville): 14
  • Central County (Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Cotati): 84

Coronavirus Testing In Sonoma County

According to Sonoma County, a total of 3,768 residents have been tested for the coronavirus. The 152 that have tested positive make 4 percent of tests.

Of positive cases, the county has determines that 27 percent of people contracted the virus from travel. 45 percent contracted it from being in close contact to those travelers and 16 percent got the virus from community spread. Another 18 cases are still being investigated and the transmission method is unknown.

As of Tuesday morning, Johns Hopkins University reported 24,372 cases of the cornavirus in California. COVID-19 has caused 732 deaths statewide.
