Driver Arrested, Passenger Hurt In Late Night Felony DUI Crash: Petaluma Police

PETALUMA, CA — Two people were hospitalized after plowing into a row of parked cars near the intersection of South McDowell Boulevard and Caulfield Lane in Petaluma, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

The driver, Rodrigo Rosales-Ramirez, and a passenger were still inside the truck on Friday, about 11:30 p.m., when police and Petaluma Fire Department medics arrived after receiving multiple calls about the accident, police said.

Rosales-Ramirez and his passenger were transported to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

Police said that Rosales-Ramirez had been driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

"Evidence gathered at the scene, combined with field sobriety testing, confirmed impairment," according to a statement by the Petaluma Police Department.

Rosales-Ramirez was arrested and taken to the Sonoma County Jail on charges of felony driving under the influence resulting in injury.

No other people were injured, police said.
