Flood Warning Issued For Parts Of Sonoma County
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations was imminent or occurring as of 1 p.m. Friday.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The National Weather Service issued a flood warning Friday afternoon for parts of Sonoma County where an atmospheric river has dumped 2.5-4 inches of rain since Thursday.
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations was imminent or occurring as of 1 p.m. Friday and was expected to continue for the Willow Brook, the Laguna de Santa Rosa, Mark West Creek and Colgan Creek until 10 p.m. Friday, according to the flood warning.
Some locations that will experience flooding include Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Novato, Rohnert Park, Sebastopol, Cotati, South Santa Rosa, Roseland, Black Point-Green Point, Forestville, Glen Ellen and Temelec, the weather service said.

Members of the public were advised not to drive on flooded roads and to keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
"Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away," the National Weather Service said.

"Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding."
The region remains under a flood watch through Sunday. The flood warning, which means flooding is imminent or taking place, was initially in effect through 7 p.m. Friday but the weather service extended it through 10 p.m. Friday.
Highway 12 under Stony Point Road & several other streets around Santa Rosa are closed due to flooding. Avoid unnecessary travel. Road Closures
The following North Bay roadways were closed by flooding as of 11 a.m. Friday, according to Caltrans.
- SR-121 closed from Fremont Drive just north of SR-116/Arnold Drive in Sonoma County
- SR-1 at Marin/Sonoma County line to School Street in Sonoma County
- SR-1 from Valley Ford to School Street in Sonoma County
- WB I-80 Green Valley Rd to Truck Scales #6 lane closed in Solano County.
