Former Sonoma County Employee Faces Child Sex Abuse Charges: Report

A 44-year-old woman has been charged with 12 felonies related to the sexual abuse of a young girl.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A former Sonoma County government employee is facing multiple charges related to allegations that she sexually abused a young girl, according to a news report.

Christina Whisman, 44, was arrested Dec. 17 by the Santa Rosa Police Department on suspicion of nine counts of lewd acts on a child younger than 14, one count of aggravated sexual assault and two counts of sexual penetration with a foreign object, Sonoma County jail records showed.

Prosecutors allege the lewd acts started in March 2020, the sexual assault began in April 2020, and the sexual penetration was committed in March 2021.

According to public records, Whisman started as an accounts clerk for Sonoma County and worked her way up to senior accounts clerk. Records show she was employed by the county as early as 2011 until 2023.

Whisman was scheduled to make her second court appearance Wednesday morning.
