Halloween Night Crash: Woman Accused Of DUI, Hit-And-Run
Multiple people called 911 about the crash at a downtown Petaluma intersection.
PETALUMA, CA — A Petaluma woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI and felony hit and run in connection with a crash Halloween night in downtown Petaluma.
A number of people called 911 shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday to report a crash with injuries near the intersection of C Street and Petaluma Boulevard South. When officers arrived on scene, they learned one of the drivers involved in the crash had left the scene in her car, Petaluma police Sgt. Ryan Suhrke said.
The other driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries suffered in the crash, Suhrke said.
Officers gleaned enough information through their investigation and witness statements to identify a possible suspect: 30-year-old Taylor Arnold, a Petaluma woman.
They checked locations where they believed Arnold may be hiding and found her at an associate's residence.
"During the interview, officers were able to determine she was driving the vehicle with passengers in it at the time of the collision," Suhrke said. "Officers completed a DUI investigation and determined Arnold was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance."
Records showed Arnold was booked into Sonoma County jail and remained behind bars Friday. Her bail was set at $100,000 pending a court appearance set for Monday morning.
