Juvenile Suffers Significant Injury In Large Fight

Police were seeking witnesses of the fight involving around 20 teenagers.

PETALUMA, CA — Police were continuing an active investigation Friday into a large fight Halloween night in Petaluma that left a juvenile with a significant injury requiring hospitalization.

Dispatchers with the Petaluma Police Department started receiving calls at 10:42 p.m. Thursday about a fight involving approximately 20 people in the parking lot of River Plaza at 80 E. Washington St., police Sgt. Ryan McGreevy said.

Callers said the fight was between two groups of teenagers.

"During the fight, a juvenile sustained a significant injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment," McGreevy said. "The juvenile is expected to recover from said injury."

McGreevy said the Petaluma Police Department Investigations Unit has taken over the investigation and is asking any witnesses or anyone who may have information regarding the incident to contact Detective A.
